Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than twenty years. She is the owner of control of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently serves as its president. Buss born in California, grew up with an impressive family background. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur with a real estate business who later was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated after her parents split in 1972. In 1972, at age 19 she started working in the family business. She founded later an organization called the Los Angeles Blades, a professional roller-hockey team. The position she held was president of Great Western Forum prior to becoming vice-president for the Lakers. Buss, her five brothers and sisters and their father who owned the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder until the time of his passing away in 2013, received the ownership via the trust. Each of them were entitled to equally voting rights. She assumed the office as president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also owns Women of Wrestling, a professional promotion of wrestling with its the headquarters located within Los Angeles.
