Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive blend of soul gospel jazz R&B and R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine's real the name of Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta, her roots are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue an interest in music, singing and playing the piano at church. Her music career started in Atlanta at Spellman College. She took on the role of primary pianist for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals and her music, invited Sunshine to sing in the Dreamgirls production during the Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
